Primary Responsibilities:


• Translate field notes, verbal and written information into CAD drawings
• Organize the layout of plans, details and units on the CAD drawings
• Ensure all drawings are formatted to company standards and customer specifications
• Perform basic drafting for Mechanical and Electrical drawings
• Work with senior personnel to learn appropriate design techniques
• Perform field work at industrial plants, involving some climbing, will be required

Primary Qualifications:

Industrial Project Manager

Paducah, KY Office

Marcum Engineering is actively seeking an Industrial Project Manager to join our Paducah KY office.

Essential Job Functions:


•Keep the Client, Executive Vice President, Department Manager and the firm Accounting Department informed on the status of projects.
• Lead design team to achieve the clients’ expectations and clearly communicate the scope, timeline, deliverables and budget to the team.
• Accountable for project costs, schedules, performance and safety.
• Communicate and resolves clients’ issues.
• Acts as point-of-contact to senior level clients and executive personnel.
• Report into senior management.
• Lead mid to upper-sized multi-disciplinary projects.
• Responsible for adhering to all firm’s standards and practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Develop and mentor staff.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Working Conditions:


• Office, plant or client site environment
• Ability to sit and work at computer for an extended period of time
• Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces
• May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment
• Office, commercial and/or industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals
• Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed

Primary Qualifications:


• Licensed as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain same within six (6) months of hire is required.
• Must understand all appropriate codes.
• Must keep current in their job specialty through continuing education.
• Have 5 years minimum of experience in project management/execution with an understanding of standard project management processes/procedures.
• Have experience working with Food Manufacturing, Chemical, Petroleum Clients and construction of mid to upper-size industrial plants.
• Have high level of interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy.
• Have the ability to develop business opportunities.
• Be proficient in executing fast-tracked projects.
• Have problem solving skills.
• Have the ability to meet project deadlines.
• Have scope management and client managements skills.
• Have engineering consulting firm experience.
• Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, while being capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through and including the executive level.
• Must have a proven track record of accomplishments as a project manager or engineer on industrial projects and be capable of supervising and directing a team of engineers, designers, contractors and vendors.
• Be a self-starter with strong attention to detail.
• Have the ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of completion.
• Have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

Job Duties:


  • Planning, implementing and managing geotechnical projects including preparing geotechnical proposals and directing drilling staff
  • Logging geotechnical explorations and developing laboratory analysis plans for in-house soil lab
  • Conducting evaluation and design-related tasks including slope stability analysis, settlement and bearing capacity evaluations for shallow and deep foundations, surcharges and retaining wall design and knowledge of rock slope design
  • Being familiar with KYTC, IDOT and TDOT geotechnical requirements
  • Being familiar with geotechnical software including gINT, Slope Stability Analysis software (e.g. GSTABL), deep foundation software, Arc GIS and LRFD design
  • Having knowledge of industry standard computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ArcGIS and proficiency in Bentley In-Roads preferred
  • Preparing geotechnical reports, drawing, and specifications
  • Being responsible for budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks
